In Memoriam:  Allen Leroy Pelowski

2 March 1942- 17 July 2009

Founder of the South African Institute of Cranial Studies, AL Pelowski  passed away in Johannesburg after a brief illness.  An old friend said that AL had “a hunger for Africa that England could never satisfy.”  So it is no surprise that his last decade was spent on this Mother of continents planting seeds, affecting people in ways he probably never knew,  with his teaching and vision, and his “genius for the extreme.”  AL’s lessons inspired and uplifted, challenged and provoked.  He leaves behind many who now give thanks for the passion and commitment he brought to guiding us in the art of cranio sacral therapy and for the legacy of humility, service, and “cage-rattling” he left for us to carry into the future.

My end draws nigh, ‘tis time that I were gone.

Make broad thy shoulders to receive my weight.

Morte d’Arthur, Alfred Tennyson 1833-4
